Mystery Babylon
Some readers may not agree with this chapter, but after reading this entire message, you may have a different
opinion.
Revelation 17:3: "So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet
coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns."
Remember John is in the spirit: The woman riding the beast is the strong nation that has controlling influence
over the beast. The scarlet color represents the blood of the saints and martyrs of Jesus, which make up this
beast of seven heads and ten horns that are the rulers and authorities of satan. This is the Revived Roman
Empire.
Revelation 17:4: "And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and
precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her
fornication:"
The woman arrayed in purple means wealth and protection. This was a nation of great power, wealth, riches,
and lavish living that God had blessed. The scarlet color represents the corruptible state of sin she has
become. The golden cup in her hand is a representation of her symbol of liberty and freedom for everyone.
However, overflowing amounts of sin that have reached unto heaven have corrupted her. She has fallen from
the grace of God and no longer has God's protection.
Revelation 17:5: "And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE
MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH."
When mystery Babylon is mentioned we are prone to think directly of ancient Babylon. Why did they call it
mystery Babylon. Why did they call it Mystery Babylon, instead of just whatever nation it would be? The word
mystery is used here because when this was written the nation did not yet exist. Its identity was truly a
mystery. The word Babylon is used only as a representation of the greatness and evil of the nation. This
nation has spread its abominations around the world. As we continue through the different verses that
describe this nation, its identity should become obvious.
Revelation 17:6: "And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs
of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration."
This nation has polluted the world and caused many a Christian to stumble, to fall into sin, and some to die in
their sin. John is amazed at how a nation so blessed of God could be so mislead when most can read the
Bible themselves and see what is happening, but instead they listen to man's teachings.
Revelation 17:7: "And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the
woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns."
The angel tells John that the seven heads and ten horns are the "Revived Roman Empire," and that the
woman is that great city and powerful nation that sits in control of the beast.
Revelation 17:9: "And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which
the woman sitteth."
This represents the seven mountains of Rome, which are the seven heads of the European federation; the
leaders of the "Revived Roman Empire." Like the Roman Empire, the "Revived Roman Empire" has had
seven rulers since 1945 when it came into existence. There were only seven kings during the rule of the
Roman Empire. The woman is in control of the "Revived Roman Empire," until they turn against her and she
is destroyed by fire.
Revelation 17:15: "And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples,
and multitudes, and nations, and tongues."
These people of many nationalities, cultures, and languages make up the people of this nation.
Revelation 17:18: "And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the
earth."
Mystery Babylon is the greatest nation on earth. In addition, the city where the kings of the earth reign is
located in her. Ancient Babylon is in modern day Iraq. Iraq is far from being a great city that reigns over the
kings of the earth. Remember, we are talking about right now, not sometime off in the future. Who is the
greatest nation on earth? Revelation Chapter 18 describes this nation.
Revelation 18:3: "For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the
earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the
abundance of her delicacies."
The nations of the world have become rich trading with her. But this nation has polluted the world with its
fornication and corruptness. It has set an example for the rest of the world by accepting such thins as
homosexuality, abortion, and open blasphemy in music, movies, news, and worship of false gods even to the
extent of satan worship. All of these have been done in the name of preserving freedoms: freedom of sexual
orientation, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion. Freedom is important to have, but it must be used
with God's wisdom.
This nation was founded on God's laws. God blessed this nation. They fed the world. They were known as
the Land of Plenty. People from all over the world wanted to live here because of the great opportunities that it
offers. This was the United States. There are still good Christian people in this country, but as a Nation we
have fallen away from God.
Unless we repent and turn from our ways, the United States as a powerful nation will not exist beyond 2008.
In the book of Revelation the eighteenth chapter is recorded our destruction.
There was a survey taken around 1980 of the ministers in all the different Christian denominations in this
nation. At that time:
80% did not believe in hell
60% did not believe in heaven
78% did not believe in the virgin birth
This was over 20 years ago, and we have gone down hill even further since then. Paying tithes is not about
filling the preachers and ministries pockets for their own gain.
When the rich man approached Christ regarding the commandments Luke 18:21-22: "he said all these have
I kept from my youth up. Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him. Yet lackest thou one thing:
sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor."
Mark 14:7 "for ye have the poor with you always...
Christ said in Matthew 25:40 ",...inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have
done it unto me."
God wants everyone to help the poor, the people that really need help. When you do, you are blessed and
rewarded for it. This is the basis of God's teaching of what paying tithes is about.
Israel before they were taken into captivity by Babylon, had even fallen into Baal worship. This was where you
would sacrifice your firstborn child on an idol in a fire. You think, how horrifying! But our nation is just as
guilty, with the abortions that's been done in this country. It has not stopped. It is still going on. God cannot
hear prayer until repentance is done. In addition, we are ordaining ministries to teach sodomy to gays and
lesbians. You talk about slapping God in the face. From Hollywood we have filled peoples minds with pride,
satan worship, idols, lust of the flesh, lying, cheating, talking back to parents, cursing, stealing, fornication,
adultery, murder, and sodomy. We have spread it around the world.
Christ said in Matthew 5:28: "But I say unto you. That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath
committed adultery with her already in his heart."
Look how we have put the thoughts of sin in people's minds in this country and around the world with the
things we do in this nation.
Matthew 15:18: "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile
the man."
When most people were children they remember if a man cursed around a woman, he was corrected for it
immediately. Today there are women who talk worse than the men do. We have gone down hill so badly, that
most people do not realize it, because it has come about so gradually.
Christ stated in Matthew 12:36-37: "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall
give account there of in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou
shalt be condemned."
Your words will justify you, or they will condemn you.
Revelation 18:7: "How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow
give her: for she saith in her hear, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see now sorrow."
Matthew 16:4: "A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given
unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas..."
We have been a blessed nation. We have not had to endure many of the hardships that other countries have
such as: famine, martial law, and third world poverty. Before September 11, 2001, it had been nearly 60 years
since we had been attacked on our own soil.
In the book of Jonah, the only sign Jonah gave the Ninevites was a warning to change their ways or God
would overthrow them. On September 11, we received a warning. God lifted His protection from us. Instead
of humbling ourselves to God and repenting, while continuing to have pride in our nation, we simply remained
proud. This was a great tragedy. We need to recognize that as a nation we have fallen away from God. Our
nation has seen a continuous decline of morality and in many cases, what has become acceptable in our
society becomes a standard by which we live. What we must ask ourselves is whose standards do we wish
to meet, man's or God's?
II Timothy 3:1-5: "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of
their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. With
natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. Traitores,
heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying the
power thereof: form such turn away."
In our nation, we see all these things. We say, "God Bless America," and our currency says, "In God We
Trust." Yet we as a nation deny His power. We used to be a God fearing nation. Now America professes to
know God, yet the people do not fear Him and live as they see fit, same as Israel did before it was lead away
captive to Babylon in the Old Testament.
I Timothy 4:1-2: "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,
giving heed to deducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience
seared with a hot iron."
God declared that a people and a nation would be destroyed or put to death for these reasons (Leviticus 20:1-
27)
Wicked Ahab is a type of son of perdition, the eighth king of Israel (like the eighth king of Mystery Babylon). He
would not listen to wise council (old men) but inquired of unwise council (deceit) to go along with what he
wanted to do (I Kings 21:4-20). His idolatrous wife Jezebel (meaning "unmarried") with her prophets of Baal
slew the prophets of God, is like Mystery Babylon and the false church. With all the different types of religious
teachings and acceptance of the things we have listed above that God said will cause a nation and its people
to be destroyed. (I Kings 18:21-40)
Revelation 17:16-17: "And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall make her desolate
and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God had put in their hearts to fulfill his will..."
We are the woman that sits upon the beast with the seven heads and ten horns, the great and mighty nation
that sits at the head of the "Revived Roman Empire." This verse is regretfully all to clear.

- Whoever curses his mother or father
- Spiritualism, fortune tellers = familiar spirits
- Adultery = another man's wife or woman's husband
- Homosexuality = filthiness
